This was the concoction that was created for dinner a few years ago in a kidless kitchen, alone with my creativity, inspired by Rachael Ray's flavorful burger recipes she always comes up with.
Ground turkey can be dry, bland and blah. But that actually makes it a perfect meat to get creative with! Any flavor you add will stand out and just enhance the meat itself. I love this recipe and have made it many times over.
Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey
1 large carrot, grated
2 green onions, minced
1 tsp ground ginger
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 cup coconut aminos
small handful of cilantro, minced
Coconut oil for frying
Directions
1) In a large mixing bowl mix all ingredients together until well incorporated.
2) Head a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt about 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in the pan.
3) Once the oil is hot, form the meat mixture into patties and add to the pan. Allow to sear and cook, about 5-6 minutes per side, until the internal temp reaches 165*F.
4) Enjoy the burgers with a side salad, cabbage slaw or roasted veggies.
