Pizza is and will always be a favorite in my home, if my husband has anything to say about it!
So when we got into this healthier eating, lower carb, real food life we had to find some solutions for pizza. In my home we eat gluten-free about 90% of the time so a pre-made wheat pizza crust isn't really a healthier option to me, in my opinion.
I've shared with you my favorite recipe for cauliflower pizza crust, and even in my free Facebook group I shared a yummy cracker pizza idea as well.
For another option, the fastest option of them all - one that can comply with a low carb or keto lifestyle, if that's your diet of choice - is this pizza bake!
12 oz ground Italian sausage (mild or hot, whichever you prefer)
12 oz pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella or Italian cheese
Toppings of choice: pepperoni, diced bell pepper, tomato & fresh basil, green olives, mushrooms, onion, etc.
1) Preheat oven to 375*F.
2) Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the ground sausage.
3) Add browned meat to a 13x9 inch baking dish. Evenly pour the pizza sauce over the meat. Top with shredded cheese and your favorite toppings.
4) Bake in the oven until cheese has melted and has turned brown around the edges.
5) Cut into about 8 squares for serving.
